Sensational Skaters, Inc. Web Site Home

Welcome to the Web Site for Sensational Skaters, Inc. We are a Lansing, Michigan based group of serious skaters, dedicated to promoting skating as an art form and entertainment as well. Our Mission Statement is as follows:
"To promote fun, fitness, positivity, cooperation, and brotherhood within the rollerskating community".
The group was founded and named by Joe Carter in September of 2005. The original members were Angela Shepherd, Rosalee Rush, Sylva Ray, Ron Carter, and Joe Carter. The group put together it's First Annual Skate Jam in February of 2005, and decided on the name "Show Up And Show Out". It is now held annually each February in Lansing. In 2006 the group skated with several other Skate Clubs from around the U.S. on the Peacock Diversity Television Show, which was filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition, the group travels to other Skate Jamz throughout the U.S. and Canada such as SK8-A-Thon in Atlanta, Annual Rollerskating Reunion in Chicago, parties in Louisville, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore, Cambridge Ontario, and many ofher cities and states. Our group currently consists of 5 very talented skaters. They are:
Rosalee Rush- Rosalee has been skating for more than 20 years, and is a very talented skater. She is originally from Detroit, and her great, choreographed style is very much influenced by the Detroit style of skating. Her nickname is "Quiet Storm", but on those wheels, she's a dynamo for sure. She is married to husband Ty, and they have 1 son.
Ron Carter- Nicknamed "BodyWork". He has been skating for more then 36 years. His style is very much influenced by his brother Joe, as well as a host of other Old Skool Lansing skaters from the past, and he is enormously talented.. He has skated in many different cities and on a host of skating venues. His dynamic moves have brought him much acclaim throughout Michigan. He is married to wife Denise, and they have 7 children.
Joe Carter- Once nicknamed "ShowStopper" by a lady who observed his unbelievably difficult, flashy moves at a Skate Jam in Ohio, Joe has been skating 48 years, having started at 7 years old. He has skated in 35 different states in the U.S. and parts of Canada. With his unique style, he's won numerous contests, done skating performances and exhibitions in front of large audiences, done television interviews, and the list goes on and on. He has an incredible passion for skating, and loves helping beginning skaters learn, and accomplished skaters improve. He is self-taught, and he skates 2-3 times a week, and skates at many of the National Skate Jamz. He lives in Lansing, Michigan.
Winona Potter- Grew up skating in Detroit, and has been skating more than 20 years. She is absolutely on her way to becoming one of the top female skaters not only in Lansing, but in Michigan. She loves executing the flashiest and most difficult moves on the skating floor. In addition, she has several interesting hobbies, including belly dancing, bowling, and motorcycle riding. She is the mother of 3 lovely children (2 sons, 1 daughter).
Gary Robinson- Grew up skating in Lansing, and has been skating more than 25 years. Like Joe, Gary is a true master of the Michigan "Open House" slide, and he has skated in several cities/states around the country. With his impressive style he has certainly reserved a spot as one of Michigan's truly outstanding skaters! He is married to wife Jeanette and they have 3 fine sons.
